Community-Oriented Information Professional
I'm an information professional with a passion for social media, event planning and community outreach, with nearly a decade of professional and library experience.
I've founded 2 social groups, one for library professionals (Phillybrarians) and the other for crafters seeking to donate their items to local charity organizations and hospitals (Sweet Charity Sundays).
My goals and work are informed by a commitment to community and social justice, and a drive to engage groups and local and small businesses in participating in those efforts.

Passion for Education
For the past several years, I have had many opportunities to teach individuals and small groups, whether instructing professors on how to use a computer or working with students to bridge the gap between where they are in a course and where they'd like to be. I've discovered that an important part of teaching is not only sharing information but helping learners to seek out reputable sources of information in a methodical fashion. I'm passionate about literacy, education and the need for information literacy. These things are the foundation to becoming a person who can successfully navigate through life.
- As a Digital Resource Specialist for the Free Library, I manage two labs in Philadelphia and instruct children, teens, adults and seniors on how to use technology and library resources.
- As a multidepartmental assistant at William Paterson, I taught professors and students how to scan documents, use computers, and use programs such as Photoshop.
- As a children's tutor at a library in Queens, I gave homework help to children in grades K-4.
- As a sociology tutor at William Paterson, I helped students prepare for final exams.
- As an intern at the Cheng Library, I assisted students during information literacy sessions, keeping students on-task and helping them with their exploration of the library's resources.
